ROAR Day

The Adventure…

Held at the picturesque Lake Hope State Park, the Rural Ohio Appalachia Revisited (ROAR) Day is a celebration of Appalachian culture. ROAR started as an informal meeting of people involved in the community and interested in its heritage. Today, it has grown by leaps and bounds. The day-long festival features demonstrations of traditional skills such as basketweaving, woodcarving, pottery making, and quilting. The day wouldn’t be complete without listening to some bluegrass music and tasting some old fashioned foods like apple butter and cider. To add to the fun, ROAR Day includes an authentic Appalachian Halloween.
